Now Showing...

Check out the Robert Goodman Wine Tasting Room in Arcata to see some of my wall pieces. You actually have to enter the establishment, as you cannot see them thru the windows because they are in the back hallway. The wine is very tasty, so one up at the
bar on your way back.
Most pieces are ceramic, midrange porcelain, but I am also showing some collages as well. The lighting was not the best for my camera, so please for give the photos.:
The "Two Birds one Branch" piece was featured in the North Coast Journal's Art's Arcata section!

CCACA Preview

Here they are. I took a quick shot of them as I was pulling them out of the kiln. Materials: FROST Midrange Porcelain Paper Clay, Underglazes. Today I made titles.
From left to right : Little Black Party Dress, Serpentine Tea Dress, and Red Hot Hearts Dress.

The excitment is brewing as we get ready to go on our journey CCACA. I am putting the final touches the HSU ceramic flyer 2009. Very cool art. To be posted soon.

All dressed up with nowhere to go

The dresses are done...
but now what?

Most of the color is underglaze that became hot enough to flux and add a subtle sheen. I love working at cone 6 (2264 degrees f) with the color on porcelain.

The results are unique to the clay and temp in my opinion. Hot enough to flux, cool enough to keep the colors vivid.

The ruffle dress has a glaze (top peach color- Tangerine Ice) and the rest is underglaze too.

They're fragile, but at least they are done.
